Colour me serious, but I have a fondness for comic actors playing dramatic roles. I'm the sorta guy who prefers it when Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler go out of their comfort zones and play it straight. And so I approached Trainwreck with some optimism, having faith that Seann William Scott would come up with something interesting. He's pretty good here, likeable as always, which is a good thing because his character has little going for him and the whole project just feels like the indulgent ramblings of someone who really isn't that interesting. The story certainly has an air of authenticity about it, you really couldn't make this shit up, but it also feels pretty formless as a story. The editing is sloppy, the direction bland, and its really only in the last 15 minutes that things begin to catch fire, literally. For the most part though the only empathy I felt with the main character was by sharing his attention deficiency.

As silly as this whole story sounds, it is funny, and to think that it is a true story? wow! He rose above all the conditions he suffered and all his various illnesses.

I thought it was very funny and original. Some really great lines, and overall pretty good. "Stiffler" has never been better.

A mentally retarded guy lives his life marking one failure after another, which leads him to perceiving the world as alien and hostile. Gradually, through the compassion he finds with a girl he loves, his prison cell mate, and among friends in the Alcoholics Anonymous groups, he develops acceptance of the word as it is and starts coping by becoming a live comic speculating on his mental illness and the absurd, often sad, but funny situations that come as its results.
