Amarcord (1973)

In an Italian seaside town, young Titta gets into trouble with his friends and watches various local eccentrics as they engage in often absurd behavior. i love it because it is soo childhood memories.i love it because my dad took me to it. i love it because he loved it.

There isn't a big story here. If that bothers you then don't bother. This is more an extended collage of memories. Sure there are things you can find in this but in the end it's a love letter to Fellini's Italy. Surreal at times and so accessible at others. This is a must see even if you don't like subtitles.

Astounding. Neither narrative, nor mockumentary, nor dream, nor cartoon, its all these things. Its memory. So rich and raw and moving and whenever you think it getting too pretentious they throw in an ass-shot or a fart. Beautiful, unforgettable and not quite like anything I've ever seen.
