Intellectual. Not a very good movie. But quite interesting.

Most of the time I just skip this kind of B-type movie, but After the Dark caught my attention by choosing Indonesia as background of the story and not forget to mention there're Bonnie Wright (Ginny Wasley) and Cinta Laura. The whole premise of the movie seems interesting, it actually is, but only for first 45 minutes. After that it gets weirder and absurd, in the end this movie just left me puzzled and clueless what's the whole point of the plot. Nonetheless, you will be delighted to see many beautiful landscape of Indonesia, hopefully it brings a lot of attraction for Indonesia tourism.

Beautiful direction and settings. Decent movie to show to a high school philosophy class I guess. No one tries entering numbers for the exit code? Memory carries over from a previous experiment?

Some scenes are so unnecessary or sloppy that it makes me wonder if the filmmaker himself was aware of the poignant message he was portraying: That emotion is more important than logic. A sometimes frustrating, but always beautiful film.

Flawed. Oh dear lord above, this is so flawed. It would have fared better with me had it not claimed to be about philosophy - but anyway. At first thoughtful and captivating, which then turns into something not entirely about philosophy (or at all), but still compelling. The last experiment brings a powerful, important message ... but after it comes a mess of stupidity, resulting in an awful ending.
