After Fall, Winter would play better minus at least half an hour of flab.

Eric Schaeffer knocks it out of the park with this one, though I have gripes about the ending. Otherwise the movie is pitch-perfect, and damn near brought me to tears. Definitely check it out, especially if you like Korean melodramas.

It's a good 40 minutes too long. It repeats many of the same themes seen in every single thing Eric Shaeffer has done. It's a long way from Wirey Spindell. The subplots aren't all bad, but nearly all of them are messy. In the end, the whole thing is pulled together by Lizzie Brochere's performance and a really solid, if ridiculous, final act. Surprisingly well shot, though.

Uncomfortably confessional or wildly melodramatic plot twists work interestingly in the moment, but wobble in retrospect. Pic's overarching structure is further weakened by Schaeffer's half-hearted attempt to tie together loose ends.
