It was alright. I think I liked the original Afro Samurai better though

Good continuation from the Afro Samurai series. Same gritty super-detailed animation and awesome fight scenes. Surprisingly, there was more character development than I expected (not a whole lot, but decent). Enjoyable.

Cliche and uninspired... Afro-Samurai is more of the same old same old. The animation itself is smooth and stylish but the story is even less creative and believable than the series. The voice direction (for the English version) and the music just don't mesh with the animation.

Animation - awesome. Soundtrack - perfect. Story - um, uh.. it didn't have one.. Total dude-flick.

When it comes to modern day anime it can sometimes get too over saturated with computer animation and you miss that classic vibe. With Afro Samurai it has a solid story with beautiful animation to give it that perfect slice of story telling. It isn't as good as the original series but it still holds up on its own.
