Frieza returns with a Dragon Ball wish leading to a final confrontation with Goku, who has managed to tap into his SS God powers to help him. This one does a good job at highlighting the flaws that Goku and Vegeta have, flaws that ultimately could spell disaster for them if gone unchecked. Other than that, It just results in the plot that quite a few other DBZ films have had - A major villain is wished back to life and is swiftly defeated. It lacks the comedy and actual storytelling that made Battle of Gods so good.

This thing feels more like a parody of the saga Freezer a new movie franchise It's just a bad comedy, a TV special not a film shown at cinemas.

Fairly well done and with a decent way of making a fan favorite villain come back to life. It's certainly alot better than most of the other DBZ movies made but most of them are piles of garbage. My big complaint is the fact that they didn't showcase the new forms very much and there's a general lack of differentiating the "increase" in the new forms power level. Is it stronger than the SSG form from the Battle of the Gods movie? We don't exactly know that yet. The fight scenes were good as they added a bit of CGI in the midst of every major fight scene. It's to be determined still what this movie means for the future of DBZ, especially the new show that came out in the Japan recently and is finally starting to take off on its own a bit. But they seem to know what they are doing still and it's only a matter of time before they show off a new form. But I'd definitely like some gauge on their strength levels now.

I"m liking the fact that fInally we are getting Dragonball Z films that don't end with everyone getting annihilated and Goku using the Spirit bomb. This one has a genuinely nice story. The enemy isn't ridiculously strong like all the other movies and the heroes don't magically become stronger to beat the enemy. The animation is good, especially as there are several points where it transitions between 2d and 3d animation which is very nice. The voice acting in the english dub is excellent also. Definitely worth a watch if you like DBZ and didn't like Battle of the Gods or the new Super series. This is the only DBZ film I officially like.

If you are looking for the same high you got when Goku 1st became that golden haired champion or when Gohan Final cut loose you wont find it here. But its still a great DBZ flick feeling more a love letter to the fans. Every main character has a cool scene and the fights are pretty inspiring. Definitely something a fan would love, but new comers may feel a bit lost.
