Absentia (2011)

Tricia's husband has been missing for seven years. Her younger sister Callie comes to live with her as the pressure mounts to finally declare him 'dead in absentia'. Tricia is reluctant, always holding out hope, but Callie is practical and wants her to move on. As Tricia sifts through the wreckage and tries to move on with her life, Callie finds herself drawn to an ominous tunnel near the house.

This Mike Flanagan have written, directed and edited an horror quite different from the others... even if it's not really scary we could say that is tense and often it makes you angry. Angry because there are so many holes in the story... ok it's not real, but why doesn't Callie think to talk with Walter's son? just to make an example... and what about the end? I can understand that it's difficult to find a rational ending for such a story, but like this it's not fair! and why the disappered people keep on saying "you can see me", that is never explained... oh I have so much questions about it but maybe that's the good side of it!

Really great independent drama/horror. Thanks to Bobby for telling me about this! Shot all on a Canon 5D and partially funded by Kickstarter, it definitely didn't skimp on quality.
