Aarakshan is heavy on speeches, but the film manages to work because director Prakash Jha has cast it wisely, and has clearly put time and care into exploring the nuances of the issue.

Nice movie however subject could have been more deep

They shouldn't bring a critical issue down to become a fight between a branded coaching school and a free stable coaching school. The cast has been wasted. The film can be better if it's less dramatic and more realistic, not to shrink back at the last moment.

It is marred by the usual bolly-excesses: an inordinate length, unnecessary songs and the miscasting of real-life royal-blood Khan as a 'dalit' (untouchable). Well acted, though.

Good one though it drifts from core issue of reservations in 2nd half. Also, bit lengthy.
