Jack McCall is a fast-talking literary agent, who can close any deal, any time, any way. He has set his sights on New Age guru Dr. Sinja for his own selfish purposes. But Dr. Sinja is on to him, and Jack's life comes unglued after a magical Bodhi tree mysteriously appears in his backyard. With every word Jack speaks, a leaf falls from the tree and he realizes that when the last leaf falls, both he and the tree are toast. Words have never failed Jack McCall, but now he's got to stop talking and conjure up some outrageous ways to communicate or he's a goner.

Good movie very heartfelt cried at the end lol good movie for a rainy night or cuddle up with the boyfriend. good date movie also very funny.

Am I the only one that thought this movie was hilarious? I absolutely loved this movie! I usually don't like Eddie Murphy movies, but this one blew me away. His movies, in my opinion, are that stupid kind of humor that I think is just plain stupid and not funny at all, but this movie is genuinely funny and the interactions are unique. I definitely recommend this movie and rate it 5 stars!

I don't normally post review and such.. But I had to because of all the negative feed back people are giving this movie.. THIS IS A AWESOME MOVIE... Don't listen to Hollywood bull... If this movie is good or bad.. This movie is entertaining and will teach you something about in life in an entertaining fashion.. All these other movies are all bull and don't teach you poop and just waste your time.. This movie is not wasting but investing your time.. I wish more movie are like this where after watching this movie I can become better and more empowered then when I walked in.. Everyone should watch this movie.. Watch it now!!! Don't listen to Hollywood critic bull poop they all hatin on Eddie awesomeness

While people are sick and tired of Eddie Murphy trying to make audiences laugh through family films and comedies that don't work, for most A Thousand Words will be one of the worst movies they've ever seen, but for some its a film that has an amazing idea, a great story, a good script full of funny dialogue, a fantastic cast headed by Eddie Murphy as Jack McCall, Kerry Washington, Clark Duke, Allison Janney, Cliff Curtis and special appearances by Ruby Dee and Jack McBrayer, hilarious scenes and sequences, a dynamic pace and flow, lots of heart and a meaningful message.
