It's more or less a Norwegian version of a Coen brothers movie. It's quirky and character driven. You can't help but like the main character, Ulrik, even though he seems to do everything wrong.

Stellan Skarsgard when not in stealth mode, shows a delightful, comic and strong performance. A great actor in movie that is funnier than it thinks.

A Somewhat Gentle Man is a slow, dark, somewhat gentle comedy-just when you think you're bored, you notice it's under your skin.

A rather hilarious and fun dark comedy from Norway. I had a great time at the cinema chuckling throughout the 2 hours. Well worth the attention. I'll never eat fried fish cakes again! LOL!
