i found this movie deep, powerful, chilling and confronting. It asks a simple but difficult question -- Is capital punishment wrong? Shot in green/yellow/brown filter in the movie is one of most compelling use of cinematic imagine, and, indeed, has nakedly exposed the moral corruptions of communist regime in Poland Once again, i will take the idea of this film with me for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, Mr. Kieslowski

Epic contemplation about live and death. It puts under a question mark not only the funcion of death penalty but also words such as justice and compassion. I can't say nothing more but I'm sure that it is the darkest movie on every level I have ever seen. â??Since Cain, no punishment has been capable of improving the world"

Taken from Kieslowski Dekalog series, this is an extened feature length film which holds to examination the 5th commandment Thou Shell Not Kill and places it the context of a Modern Society. With dark murky photography and the use of realism Kieslowski leaves you the viewer to make your own mind up on the brut realities he conveys. Ultimately, this a thought provoking work achieved with authority craftsmanship. I love this film and would recommend it to anyone. Though it is not for the faint at heart.
