Defying every pitfall and eclipsing everything else in the film, Sigourney Weaver delivers a bravura portrait of a complex woman falsely accused of child abuse.

Kevin Maynard 25 Jun 2014

Worth navigating for its refusal to play to the crowd. There's certainly nothing safe or sweet about Weaver's performance.

Jonathan Foreman 29 May 2017

All of the characters in this story of love, guilt and redemption feel like real people, facing real dilemmas, and you truly care about what happens to them

Cornell & Petricelli 01 Jan 2000

A film with an every day beginning and an every day ending, and a triumph in between.
