Very meaningful,deep movie, which makes you to think over about your priorities and make the right decision in life. It's rare to find a movie that would be both touching and entertaining at the same time these days. This movie will be re-watched many times for sure! People who said something bad about this movie obviously have no heart or deep movies are not for them.

A film that doesn't know how to go beyond its intentions to manipulate feelings and crush our heart. Butler walks the screen like a zombie without knowing where it comes from and where it goes. [Full review in Spanish]

Butler's a bit out of his league here, but few actors could make blah writing stand up and sing, with most of "A Family Man" too generic, especially when it's away from the war at home.

Very tired of this same old theme, work versus family, has been done to death. Apparently Hollywood people themselves have gargantuan issues with this or they wouldn't make these movies over and over again. Not to mention the "family member with a disease" thread. I don't want to go to the movies and watch pain and suffering in this emotionally graphic way, sorry. This movie does not entertain, is preachy, and therefore will make no money and doesn't deserve to. Sorry that a great actor like DeFoe had to be involved in this stinker.

Sparing no maudlin contrivance in a quest to jerk tears that remain stubbornly dry, this hokum is slickly executed by producer Mark Williams in his feature directorial debut. But the result never rises above polished plastic, formulaic, and pedestrian.
