The makers of A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story leave a few too many questions unanswered, but their subject’s immense optimism steamrolls through the documentary’s shortcomings. Indeed, there seems to be little this woman can’t vanquish.

With simple storytelling, the film allows its star, Velasquez, to shine, and with her endless reserves of positive energy, eloquent speaking and willingness to be vulnerable, it's no wonder millions of people have already found her inspirational.

The world's ugliest woman (Lol, still better than Awkward) is risking her life to survive being the ugliest thing in the world (which is again still better than Awkward). Take in the quest to imagine how horrible it can be being the ugliest woman in the world (which will always be better than Awkward).

It's a very direct film, a lovely portrait of family and strength and just how far one voice can carry.
