Wow what a great directorial debut, not quite up there with Reservoir Dogs, though the premise does have some similarities. Multi-layered and definitely open to interpretation, the film demands a second viewing. There's echoes of Steptoe and Son in the Mcshane/Hurt double act but the movie belongs to Ray Winstone in quite possibly his best performance. A great movie!

5 star for the first half......everyone EVERYONE was amazing....great script and amazing cast... problem is ,,,ive never seen a movie that lost interest in itself before.....Im sure if its not already, then it would be great on stage... john hurt is amazing...ian mcshane is great. just a shame the film couldnt deliver as well as the actors.

good twist on the typical gangster genre. was scared it would be overly similar to sexy beast, but it couldn't be more different. some really moving scenes portrayed incredibly by an awesome cast.

Horrible reviews can't keep me away. Ray Winstone delivered some of the best lines on marriage and love that I have ever heard. Bloody brilliant.
