Slow burning horror film based on a Stephen King story, that should have your attention, especially in 2017. The comeback trail is here and hopefully we get many more films, even ones that were handed to poor filmmakers. This movie hangs performance and story right in the centre before adding the extra genre. The atmosphere is carefully orchestrated and it becomes unsettling as the film draws to its bitter conclusion. I only wish they left the vague ending the short story did, this film feels open and shut for the horror genre. That ending in the book would have you questioning everything you had seen before. 30-10-2017.

How do the effects of a murder impact the lives of others? Will God, the hangman's noose, the murderer himself, or something else punish the murderer? This is writer Steven King's answer to these questions (the film is based on the novella of the same name), with more than small amount of supernatural elements thrown in. "1922" also examines martial and family relationships, life goals, happiness and unhappiness, love and hate, being at the end of one's rope, and living with guilt. A bit too long, but well worth taking a look-see.

At its core this is very much a rendition of the classic Poe story called A Tell Tale Heart which, honestly, is quite appropriate seeing that King is this generation’s Edgar Allen Poe. Like Poe, King’s tales can and will continue to haunt us for centuries to come well after his own demise. In this case, the beating heart is replaced by rats and they sure make themselves known. Definitely a King work. Started out a little slow, but by the end, had you hooked. The production was amazing. I liked it, just not before bed again.

This was a really good physiological thriller/horror/drama. The acting and writing were both very good. I hated and liked the main character, which I think made him very realistic. Good job, Netflix!
