It's the 22nd of December. Sixteen years have passed since the revolution, and in a small town Christmas is about to come. Piscoci, an old retired man is preparing for another Christmas alone. Manescu, the history teacher, tries to keep up with his debts. Jderescu, the owner of a local television post, seems not to be so interested in the upcoming holidays. For him, the time to face history has come. Along with Manescu and Piscoci, he is trying to answer for himself a question which for 16 years has not had an answer: "Was it or wasn't it a revolution in their town?

"Romanian cinema is in." it's always interesting to see films coming out of post-communist countries. acting is particularly engrossing as well as its subversive but satirical undertone. hard craft to achieve, and even with the little i know about the craft, i think i can say this one's a good one.

A really good movie!!! I think it's very well-shot! I like it the idea of using a fixed camera. It's like watching something with an an "objective eye"... which sees only what passes in front of it. It 's beautiful the end, too! I think it's a great movie which puts on stage another side of History. It's so cute!

Don't really see the comedy in this, but it's a tad chuckle worthy. Simple story and well acted.

Hilarious, strictly tongue-in-cheek film. Quite amazing how much mileage the director got out of the subject. Knowing at least the basic facts about the Romanian revolution is a must, otherwise you won't be able to appreciate it.
