In Anthony Drazan's enjoyably offbeat Zebrahead, racial definition is the least important thing about anybody.

The film is often overwrought, even if it is well-meaning...The ending is especially unconvincing, as it seems to switch to the end credits while still in midstream.

I love this movie. Perhaps because I saw it in my teens when everything is SO important, and perhaps because I love Michael Rappaport. But still goes down as one of my faves.

This little movie helped launch the careers of Michael Rappaport, N'Bushe Wright and Jon Seda. A profound portrait of race relations set in a decaying city (filmed entirely on location in Detroit), this movie stays with you and still holds up strongly to this day (with Detroit in even worse shape than it was back then). Definitely worth repeat viewings!
