Appreciated this movie a lot more after I had to write a paper on it. Although probably not for the average audience, it's a unique movie that's honest about life. A very artsy movie with a lot of photo like moments.

This would have to be one of my all time favorite movies. I love how the movie isn't smothered by the Chinese culture, but its well influenced by it. This movie was unlike any other...mainly because of the strange camera angles and awkward silences. well no use in trying to explain the brilliance.

May Edward Yang rest in peace. Yi Yi was his last, a supremely structured, tenderly wrought epic. We all await a proper release of A Brighter Summer Day.
