Try to watch it by the time you think you grow up, you will get different feelin' from it. Try to watch it by the time you feel lose, you will get different interpretation from it. Edward Yang, probably the most deep understanding of humanity director in Asia. This movie touch me every single time i m watching it.

Almost three hours long, yet it feels so brief. I grew to love each family member that I didn't want the movie to end. Deceptively simple, but so complex in its portrayal of family and modern life.

beautiful fresque of the human life adventure, in the dramatic sense of it. this movie has a special aura, the kind of those that don't leave you the same person after watching it. do i have to say, i absolutely loved it.
