A poetic, poetry-stylized film raising many issues in a way that never feels demeaning to the overall nature of the film. Very special movie...I love Sally Potter's films.

With a plot revolving around main characters He and She, who (along with the other characters) speak entirely in iambic pentamiter, YES is poetic, interesting and explores issues we have all been facing since 9/11 and throughout time. A touching film made better by the brilliant directorial skills of Sally Potter (The Tango Lesson, Orlando) and incredible acting from Joan Allen and the entire cast.

This was like stumbling across Shakespeare at the supermarket - it took me a while to figure out what was weird, and then I got more and more fascinated...

Asking leads to talking, and through talking we connect

The tale is sensual despite a lack of naked skin --'his' whispers at an upscale bar and 'her' reaction are more erotic than loads of visual flesh.
