This has the feel of a modern fable and is wonderful to look at. It meandered slightly, but the excellent animation in the middle more than makes up for that!

This is essentially an absurdist Japanese Fairy Tale. Not everything always entirely makes sense but it's made quite obvious that it really isn't meant to. It's a very odd little film that packs a quarter-ton of whimsy in a 100-pound bag.
