Who's Harry Crumb? is an 'A typical', John Candy movie. If you like John Candy then you'll like this movie. It is such a silly movie filled with Candy being outrageous in disguises and getting himself into ridiculous situations. Candy plays Harry Crumb, who is a bad detective and hired specifically on a case because they don't want him to solve it! But don't underestimate the Crumb! Its fun comedy, who done it movie, it's enjoyable on a rainy day to watch it.

Just a fun, unoffensive movie. If it comes on TV and you get the chance, check it out. But, you won't regret spending a bit to rent it either, John Candy is a good guy to spend an hour and a half with.

This largely ignored caper was the Live Action Scooby Doo for young persons excited about seeing John Candy become a man of a thousand faces. I was too young to understand most of the set-pieces when I first saw it (what's wrong with a car with no brakes? What's with the footsie joke?) and on second watch you wish Candy had doubled the amount of characters he takes on. The thing about successful overweight male comedians is that their efforts to entertain are always heartfelt, even though its a low budget B comedy, you feel like Candy put his all in as if it was the only movie he would ever star in.

Predictable, funny, quote-worthy movie, starring the late, great John Candy. The cast works well together as a goofy vehicle for Candy. As long as you don't take it too seriously (and who would?), you should be entertained. Those who pan the movie have to realize that it wasn't meant to be an Academy Award-winning film--just silly, light-hearted fun.
