Saw the movie at the London Film Festival in November '11 and think the very low rating of it is unjust. It's by no means perfect but has a solid storyline and is incredibly beautiful and stylish and feels rigorously thought through. You feel that care has been put it into every moment of the movie. Some might say 'all style no substance' but I think that's also unfair: it's an attempt to do something interesting with the history and make it relevant today. For my money (as a story) it achieves that far more successfully than the current, rather similar in concept, The Iron Lady.

Completely shocked that this movie wasn't better received. I loved it oh so much. The costumes were amazing and the style was just incredible through out.

Bill and I saw this tonight. We liked it a lot. Madonna did a surprisingly good job writing and directing this movie and it was very beautiful to look at. It did not deserve all the negative reviews.

Don't listen to any bad reviews.. I really enjoyed this film, gave good insight to a story I knew very little about. The set design on the period pieces were amazing, its true the modern part which it swings back to was but far fetched. Overall the film is worth going to see and Madonna has unfairly been critiqued by overly snooty movie reviewers. The two main actors playing Wallace and Edward were captivating.
