Waydowntown (2002)

Four young office workers have a bet going to see who can last the longest without going outside. In the maze that is the downtown core of a large city, glass skywalks connect apartment buildings, office towers and shopping malls. Its day 28 of the bet and over the lunch hour, as the office prepares for the company founder's retirement party, things start to seriously unravel.

most definately my favourite canadian movie, and one of my top 5 movies of all time. the majority takes place during a lunch hour dark humour, drug use, office subversion(and perversion) good stuff for sure

It's a smart and creative comedy that skewers cheaply dehumanizing architecture and self-absorbed yuppie mentalities in a series of skillfully assembled scenes. See it in a theater that's waydowntown, and city life may never look the same.

I liked this little Canadian indy. It was pretty funny, pretty short and pretty clever. The cast is good, the ending sweet and the premise quirky.

A typical "gen X" movie - akin to the more popular "Office Space," this film plays on visuals to portray the same frustration with a dead-end job in a more creative way.

To many people, the constantly-shifting, desaturated video-to-film visuals and discontinuity tricks (plus the perennially annoying musical score) are drawbacks--not me! I also love how dislikable all the characters are, how self-enchanted and self-deluded. I guess it feeds into my basic image of office work as a self-inflicted version of Hell. Much like a two-hour chunk of Seinfeld, only far less New York/Jewish/prone to provoke screen-punching.
