"I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know something's starting right now. Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be part of your world..." (Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid)....even though your "family" is as f-up as the rest of us. This was a pretty interesting glimpse behind the curtains and how; who would have thought that the house of Mouse would be as disfuntional as any good ole American household? And yet despite ruling over their subjects with an iron fist, one can't help but still be seduced by their brand of "magic". I really liked watching this film, it was uuummm... educational.

Fascinating movie giving us access to the inside of Disney Animation during its golden years circa The Little Mermaid - The Lion King. It's great to see the originations of some of the concepts and artwork for these films and what it took to get them made. As with any doc about a group of creative and successful people, you've got the infighting, clashing egos, hurt feelings, backstabbing and so forth. It's not as entertaining as say, the Metallica doc Some Kind of Monster and there's no twists or suspense, but it's still entertaining and enjoyable getting to see the VERY unglamorous beginnings of DIsney Animation before the success of The LIttle Mermaid (which they almost didn't make). A must for Disney fans, a definite check it out for film fans in general.

An honest and sometimes brutual truth behind Disneys animation golden age starting from Oliver and Company and ending with the Lion King and the resignation of john katz. When you think Disney you think smiles and happiness this film definitly pulls the curtains back on the wizards that are the disney animators.
