Ten years ago, over forty people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Green is not just pastiching a Reagan-era mode of by-numbers splatter, but also reflecting upon that style's resurrection through the Hatchet legend that he created himself - & so this new film comes with a decidedly postmodern, self-reflexive feel.

The movies fails at both being funny or scary. What it lacks in scares it more than makes up for with gore. I guess if you liked Hatchet 1, 2 or 3, then this is right up your alley and you'll like this too.

So Victor Crowley is back once again and that is great to see these movies. They are so bad but so good at the same time and Kane Hodder back to play the role once again is even better. Jason Voorhees and Victor Crowley should go head to head sometime but kind of hard when Kane plays both. But would be a fun movie I think and body's and blood was this movie bloody gore good time of cheesiness as well can't wait for the next one.

Fans might lap it up out of habit, but it's bizarre to watch the "Hatchet" universe get smaller and sillier as it expands, with Green refusing to put a DNR order on his creation.
