Medium Sylvia Pickel and psychometrist Nick Deezy meet at a psychic research facility in New York. This movie is 80's comic humor at its best! Equal to Transylvania 6500 and the Burbs. You just have to appreciate it for the time period. If you look too deep into the movie then you have already missed the point. Even though it failed in the box office....it is a gem from the 80's

Vibes is a harmless, painless romp but it's an instance of a sincere attempt at screwball comedy that simply got screwed up.

Paranormal experts are tricked into a trip to Ecuador to find a missing treasure. Subpar but not terrible. Lauper always seemed to be compared to Madonna given breaking through at a similar time. I give the nod to Madonna in film but Lauper music hits were far superior.

A fun little diversion. Psychics conned into a treasure hunt in Ecuador for a legendary Incan 'room of gold'. Competition appears. What they find isn't what they thought it would be. Goldblum is pretty much the same character he always plays, but that's okay. Lauper is quite believable as a flake - who'd have guessed, huh? Falk is way-over-the-top funny as a con man.
