Excelente documental con un tono ficcionado para ilustrar los perjuicios que genera la Represa de las Tres Gargantas, la planta hidroelectrica mas grande del mundo, en los pobladores que vivian en las laderas de los cerros que debieron ser inundados por el proyecto. Mas chocante aun resulta ver el "turismo" que todo esto genera y la contradiccion que se da: estas mismas personas desempleadas, iletradas y casi sin opciones de subsistir, deben sumarse al forzado negocio de este turismo macabro para poder vivir. Gran pelicula con otra mirada a lo que, por ejemplo, ya propuso la excelente "Still Life" (o "Naturaleza muerta").

a really good film, personal stories. really showing the division of modern china. as some get ahead and others don't. makes you hate tourists a bit though.

Up the Yangtze is a beautifully crafted documentary. Chang displays artistry in the way he assembles his material. He captures China at a crossroads where he finds both guarded hope and epic sadness.
