Really loved this sober, intimate documentary showing in a crude light how great is the inequality in China, through a cruise on the Yantze River, as seen by a young girl from a poor family of peasants. Disturbing also that such the construction of this huge dam might not even be justified by the electrical power it generates. Rien n'est impuni, et "science sans conscience n'est que ruine de l'Ã¢me" - je recommande ce film Ã tous !

I highly recommend this documentary about the Yangtze river in China. This documentary shows how different groups of people affect and are affected by the damning of the Yangtze river. It also forced me to examine how as a tourist I can be quite oblivious to the reality of the places I am visiting.

Makes u believe in the power of film/documentary. Fascinating subject material, a anthropologists wet dream & rightly so. The Opening sequence is well worth the admission alone. Do yourself a favour...see it & you'll be left with lingering questions in your mind, it has that kind of effect.
