Expected to see some enjoyably horrible horror based on the premise, but actually showed some promise cinematically. Quite a bit overdramatic at times but showed some nice style at times.

What the production aims to pull off with the picture in the early going isn't where the movie ends up, torching a promising premise on tiresome storytelling and a mangled tonal balance.

Skip forward to the final 20 minutes for a few solid death scenes. Other than that, it doesn't matter which decade or the budget, if you see the words 'monster,' 'under,' 'bed,' it's going to blow.
