Udta Punjab has released amidst all the controversy and the hype, and has gotten people questioning whether it's worth all the hype. Well, it is.

rating-> 2 or 2.5 out of 5 mediocre..the movie have a lot of issues but does have some good parts to counter that but this is by far the most disappointing movie i have seen all year this movie is nothing more than a one time watch which is sad..

Udta Punjab is a good exposition of the drug menace afflicting Punjab, with an overdose of gratuitously graphic violence and gore. Alia Bhat's performance was excellent.

Loved the movie, it covers an important subject that of Drug Abuse, it doesn't glorify it and gives us a realistic take on the subject while being entertaining at the same time. It's got the full range of emotions in its runtime, from some shocking and informative revelation at the start, to chilling and helpless sequence, the movie ends on some charming and hopeful moments for a positive future. The plot revolves around the drug scene in Punjab and how it's destroying the youth, the hands of politician and police go hand in hand in promoting this cancer. We see the world from the points of view of an addict rock star, a naïve labour girl and a corrupt police officer, each undergoing life changes and walking the path to amends. Superb casting and performance, awesome direction, a must watch movie.
