You owe it to yourself as any true fan of the Ninja Turtles to observe this. Containing elements from the darker 21st century version to the silly minded campy entertainment that many of us grew up with in the late 1980's. You get to notice the awkwardness to the hysterical differences between the characters that bring out the best of both worlds. All in along is an added special treat for those that really know about the Ninja Turtles. Knowing if people have watched and aware of these versions, it becomes a dream to relive everything we had watched during the 25+ years they've existed. (The uncut version that wasn't shown on TV will have plenty more to offer, which is what you should see to enjoy the Turtle Power!)

This film does feel like the end of an era... It's hard to imagine what Nickelodeon plan to do with the franchise. Celebrating 25years of the TMNT, and trying to please fans of not just the 80's toon, the 2003 show but even the original comic fans aswell. A couple of Movie characters also make brief cameos. For a Hardcore Turtles fan this is the ultimate TMNT movie. The comic Turtles are perfect. Very dark, very serious and violent.. People complain that too much fun was made of the 80's show but once the comic TMNT appear, it's hard to take the 2003 show seriously. A very nice tribute, a nice story and it's easy to see why the Turtles have survived a quarter of a century. If there was never going to be anyform of TMNT again, this would have been a very nice goodbye to the franchise. However they have been sold so lets hope they survive the next quarter century and that in 25 years time there is a Turtles Forever 2.

Ah, nostalgia. Unfortunately one needs to have some knowledge of both the '87 and '03 series to fully appreciate this.

As a 25 year old fan of the original 80s Turtles series, and not particularly a fan of the 2003 reboot, I liked it more than I thought I would. Especially since the 80s Turtles are pretty much just relegated to comic relief. Had to do some wikipedia-ing to figure out what the hell was going on with the 2003 universe Shredder, so it's not quite newbie friendly. The plot is completely wacky but it's kind of awesome and spins the numerous reboots in an interesting light. Recommended for fans of either TMNT series, but obviously, not anyone else.
