Legendary director Woo-ping does a great job, especially with the slow-mo. Sadly, there are no double shots. Zhao and On are great. Cameos by Yeoh, Liu and Carradine further make True Legend live up to its name.

The comedic touches humanize this ridiculously invincible warrior with self-destructive emotional flaws. Though Su's alcoholism that morphs into the triumphant martial arts moves Drunken Fist, like Depp's unbeatable inebriated pirate, are beyond silly.

ONpa hienoa, ettÃ¤ YWP on palannut ohjaajan toimeen ja kotiseudulle. Aivan loistava elokuva, joka tuo mieleen vanhat Shaw-elokuvat ja YWP:n klassikot kuten Drunken Masterit. Ja siitÃ¤ Drunken Masteristahan tÃ¤mÃ¤ elokuva kertookin. Perinteinen kungfu-tarina vÃ¤hÃ¤n pÃ¤ivitetyssÃ¤ kuosissa. Sopivasti hienoja kungfu-kohtauksia ja dramaattista tarinaa. Zhao Wen Zhou on loistava ja Andy On pahiksena aika cool. Muita starojakin vilahtaa kiitettÃ¤vÃ¤sti sivurooleissa (RIP David Carradine). Elokuvasta on kuulemma 3D-versio...olisi varmaan mielenkiintoista nÃ¤hdÃ¤ sekin.

I hope Vincent Zhao's career takes off again as he's still got the moves. I LOVED the Drunken Fist in this. If Begger Su had an extra fight scene then we'd be looking at a classic. I can't help but think that we're missing half a movie here... And Yuen Woo-ping can/has done so much better. But... I still love it, because I'm only there for the kung ku, anyway. As a kung fu flick - stunning. As a story - crap.
