This movie role was actually meant for an actor I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVEN AS MUCH AS LEO, River Phoenix before he died. Leo did a great job in this movie and although I'm sad River didn't make this movie Leo was great.

A truly beautiful and mesmerising film. I think it portrays human nature in a realistic and unflattering light, just as much as beautiful and piquant, in a way rarely seen in cinema, period. I think this is a very underrated and fine film, superior period picture, a good depiction of absinthe use and explores relationships with expert insight. It's a shame Leo's ashamed of it.

leo is great in this film! i was searching high and low 4 this movie and i finaly saw it and i dont regret watching it :P

I was shocked by this film when i saw it, not sure what leo Di Caprio fans will make of it, but quite an interesting film.
