Stunningly beautiful work. I don't think any film has quite captured solitude and loneliness quite like this before. Ryuichi Sakamoto's minimal soundtrack is also breathtaking.

Based on Haruki Murakami's short story, an atmospheric and slow movie. I was amused that Jun Ichikawa's vision of Murakami's world is so close to my mental image. Five stars for photography.

A Must see for the open-minded. A slow, engaging, thoughtful and emotionally fulfiled film. It relies on atmosphere, setting and color to really imprint the emotions of each scene. If you sit through it and pay attention, you'll look back and feel impacted. I was.

So beautifully melancholic. A tragic "could-happen-to-anyone" story.

My friend recommended. I would recommend too.
