The pile of calamities in Notaro's life was devastating, but as she talks about them, you come to understand that, in a way, surviving one challenge strengthened her to deal with the next.

York and especially Goolsby have a background in reality television, and that pedigree is all too apparent in the way the film is shot and edited, leaning heavily on confessional interviews and montages set to emotional music.

Okay... so I've never been a fan of stand-up comedy. At one time I did enjoy a good laugh yet sadly most stand-up comedy spend more time doing jokes based on the standard "lets use more obscene, or rude words". The stand-up comedy world has just been sadden to spend anytime supporting, until I saw Tig Notaro. Tig (2015) is a documentary on a TRUE comedian, a beautiful human being that put herself on the stage for her fans versus trying to be just like every other stand-up. Having watched this film it also gave me a new reason to want to see more stand-up in hopes that some of the comedians out there can actually be funny without foul obscene shenanigans. The movie Tig (2015) is a beautiful movie, it's sad, it's laughter, it's just perfect. The saddening part of this is most people wouldn't know who Tig Notaro is until they see this movie.

Pretty interesting doc on stand up comedienne, Tig Notaro, who has gone through some very rough times but finds a way to move on and still make people laugh, despite her rough road. Worthy of a watch.

This doc really shows that laughter is the best medicine and the greatest comedy comes from the greatest pains, but it just kinda flopped at the end.
