an interesting adapation of hg wells story with a decent effects for its time

HG Wells predicts the Second World War and creates post-Apoocalyptic cinema with a script worthy of Asimov or Heinlein. The SFX may be dated, but the ideas are just as relevant today. A masterpiece.

Interesting, but somewhat uninvolving adaptation of H.G. Wells' prophetic opus. Director William Cameron Menzies crafts an impressive visual spectacle, especially considering when it was made. But a number of intriguing ideas aside, the bland characters are just devices for pushing forward a plot that's more concerned with preachy idealism than compelling storytelling. But still, a fascinating classic for science-fiction fans.

Without a dought the best sci-fi film ever made. Everyone should see it.

Good special effects for 1936. That's about it.
