Jerry, a misfit Mafia henchman, is assigned the low-level job of keeping an eye on Gino, a shoe repairman fingered by the Mob to confess to a murder he didn't commit. despite some contrivances and hokey moments, this was a pleasant, engaging and at times funny look at mamet's take on chicago and vegas mobsters. ameche and mantegna are a nice pair here.

Mamets gem of a movie, with a great final twist, goads the Godfathers with just as much invention and wit as the much higher profile Married To The Mob.

Smart, and funny. Once again, an original idea from Mamet. Considering this is the weakest of the three Mantegna, Mamet, films, it still makes you say "wow" at the end. Yes this one is actually on DVD!
