I think it's taboo to say anything negative about this movie; it's like one of those archetypal movies where it defies any and all criticism just because it's so influential. Not that I can really find anything negative about it in the first place!

This 1939 classic is, without a doubt, the greatest film ever made. Aside from legendary innovations in filmmaking, this movie-musical version transcends the book and sets a new bar for not only film musical numbers but also on-screen performances. Two of The Academy's greatest snubs: The Wizard of Oz and Judy Garland losing for Best Picture and Best Actress.
