The Valley of Decision (1945)

Mary Rafferty comes from a poor family of steel mill workers in 19th Century Pittsburgh. Her family objects when she goes to work as a maid for the wealthy Scott family which controls the mill. Mary catches the attention of handsome scion Paul Scott, but their romance is complicated by Paul's engagement to someone else and a bitter strike among the mill workers.

Love Gregory Peck in this one. This movie helped me get an A in History at IUPUI.

wonderful story and great chemistry between gregory peck and greer garson( which to me is underrated and a simply stunning actress both in looks, personality and acting ability). she has fun in the part you can tell with being fiesty and fighting for unions in ireland. enjoyable movie that i never get tired of. such a sweet and believable romance between them as well.

I really liked this movie...Greer Garson was great along with Gregory Peck. Good story with a strong cast. It's a must see. Lots of ups and downs in this one.

Gregory Peck and Greer Garson have such great chemistry, and they are brilliant in what other hands could have been sappy and boring characters. I loved this movie!
