The Valley of Decision (1945)

Mary Rafferty comes from a poor family of steel mill workers in 19th Century Pittsburgh. Her family objects when she goes to work as a maid for the wealthy Scott family which controls the mill. Mary catches the attention of handsome scion Paul Scott, but their romance is complicated by Paul's engagement to someone else and a bitter strike among the mill workers.

oh that gregory peck! so wonderful. the presenter on amc said that he got his break due to health reasons. he was unable to to serve in wwII when many other famous actors did. this left room for him to move in and make his mark.

Greer Garson and Gregory Peck have a taboo romance in the midst of a huge workers' strike. It is quite the action packed film and terribly entertaining.

I really liked this movie...Greer Garson was great along with Gregory Peck. Good story with a strong cast. It's a must see. Lots of ups and downs in this one.

EXCEPTIONAL DRAMA, PERFECTLY CAST. GREER GARSON DOES A SUPERB JOB AND GREGORY PECK IS FINE IN ONE OF HIS FIRST ROLES. WELL WRITTEN AND DIRECTED. FIRST CLASS MGM TREATMENT.
