It doesn't seem quite sure whether it wants to be mainly funny or mainly poignant, and in the end, isn't much of either.

It fails as both farce and drama, although the performances are likable enough to guarantee a relatively painless ride.

There is a creeping and depressing awfulness to this sentimental silver-years comedy, whose silly and twee style of humour and cardboard characterisation jar with its strained moments of attempted poignancy.

I loved Joan Collins' character. This movie was really fun to watch -- yes, a little trite at times, but enjoyable. Beautiful cinematography and setting and great sound track, too. I'm actually shocked it didn't get better reviews.

Goldby's film does ... prove that both Collinses should have been better used over the years, even as it slightly misuses them itself.
