Helena Bonham-Carter was very good in her role. Endearing without being too pathetic. Kenneth wasn't quite as good, but it was a cute tale or two broken people seeking dreams that aren't so normal.

It was about as inoffensive as such a premise could be. HBC & KB made it watchable, but just barely.

A guy, slightly out of his mind, gets acquainted with a girl suffering from a progressing cerebral paralysis after a failed attempt to fly off the top of a building on self-made wings. Even though the two don't excel in communication skills, they gradually gain trust in each other, and confide each other's dearest dreams, what they consider the utter degree of freedom: he wants to get his own plane up in the air, she wants to get laid before she dies. They don't get what they want before in a number of quarrels and awkward situations they leave all the conventionalities of this world behind and realise that they are birds of a feather. That makes them ready for the 'flight'. The low-budget, yet strong film is very touching and its idealism is best described in the main character's words: "Our lives may be easier, but never will they be as full".
