At a remote Arctic research station, four ecology students discover the real horror of global warming is not the melting ice, but what's frozen within it. In this science fiction fiction horror film directed by Mark A. Lewis, tells the story of a small group of ecology students who travel to the Arctic research center where they are confronted by a flesh-eating parasite like virus. In order to survive they must fight the virus or a least get out alive. Much for a direct-to-dvd film, the only actor I've known in this movie is Val Kilmer which is in the film for 10 minutes. A pretty good creepy crawler film for sci-fi/horror fans like me!!!

This was a surprisingly good horror film with a conscience...albeit a preachy one. Global warming thaws out a mammoth infected with a parasite that spreads to humans. More than that will give it away, but that should be enough to get you into things. Val Kilmer continues his string of miserable performances. It just seems like he doesn't care anymore. However, the other actors are passable and decent special effects make for a fun take on "The Thing".
