Il est toujours agréable de voir de l'animation autre que du Pixar. Dans ce magasin des suicides les dessins sont une réussite et l'histoire est inventive. Son côté sombre en fait un dessin animé pour adulte.... J'aime habituellement les films musicaux, mais ici les chansons m'ont agacé plus souvent qu'autrement. Réussite, tout de même.

Inventive but not that daring. The dark tone is welcome but the transition to more optimistic (and safe) paths not very convincing. Even so, it has some great moments.

Dans une métropole, mixte entre Paris et NY, où tout le monde déprime, les proprios d'un magasin spécialisé dans les méthodes de suicide vont mettre au monde un garçon à la joie de vivre incarné. Humour noir oblige avec un tel pitch. Certaines morts sont fun... mais le tout devient décevant à cause de trop nombreuses chansons. Y en a de trop à mon goût et surtout je ne m'y attendais pas. Pour un premier film d'animation (et 3D) Patrice Leconte s'en sort bien mais le choix des chansons gache, à mon avis, tout. Dommage.

An extremely adorable 3D - 2D animated French musical that deals with death, life, depression, and ADHD. The music is quite catchy at times and I found myself humming the main song of the film on the way home. The subject matter is a little bit much for children so don't think of this as something you'd take your kids to see. Make sure you check it out yourself first, then make the judgement based on your own and what they can understand and deal with. Of course, unless your kids are into subtitles, they might not be into this film at all but that doesn't mean parents can't enjoy this fun little film. I know I did. I was impressed with the 3D as it wasn't the shadow box effect I was expecting but rather gave depth to an otherwise flat 2D image AND allowed for some nice enhancements to the picture. The ending of the film doesn't quite live up to the first half as it seems a little too optimistic compared to anything previous. That and it just didn't make sense.

A disappointing 3-D animated musical comedy that has a promising Edward Gorey meets the Addams Family concept that is derailed by insipid songs with ungainly English translation. As for the comedy, well, when you take on this kind of material, you'd better be damn funny or you risk appearing to be in poor taste, and unfortunately the film fails there as well. The interesting animation is its only saving grace.
