Ultimately, the only respectable thing that remains consistent throughout The Stand In is the beguiling appeal Barrymore brings to both of the personalities, even though neither of them is particularly likable.

Drew Barrymore has not done anything relevant for years. Maybe Santa Clarita Diet was salvageable, but even her talk show sucked. If this is her approaching her sunset, it's definitely a very sad way to do it. And this is more than anything because she was committed to the role, but the film is really bad.
