Not my favourite Astaire and Roger's musical but the dance they did to 'The Continental' was beutiful, it is just a pity the whole number went on for far too long!

Back when gay mostly just meant happy! I randomly decided to watch it as it was on the TV, and loved the dancing, although The Continental went on pretty long! Funny & enjoyable. A black & white movie that is great for a rainy day...

The first feature pairing of Astaire and Rogers packs a delightful, innuendo laced farce for a plot. I prefer the plot to any of the other Astaire-Rogers films I've seen. The musical numbers are generally wonderful, but "The Continental," in its 20mins of glory, always reminds me of an exchange between Chico and Groucho in Animal Crackers: "I can't think of the end of this song." "I can't think of anything else."

A fantastic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musical. I love The Continential dance sequence.

Finally explodes into the stratosphere around the "Night and Day" number. I'm not the biggest fan of The Continental, or of the story itself, but any movie that allows for copious Edward Everett Horton is good.
