As interesting as the story is, the movie is clumsy and drags.

The cinematograpghy is amazing and everything is delicately pretty--- too pretty to be true actually...and I know it does take great efforts to fit their stories into the tragic history of China in the first half of the 20th century. Yeah, it will confuse you and bore you to death, if you don't have a good knowledge of Chinese history...although I think it's way too long, there are many great moments.

One of the first movies i watched in cinemas, I remember that it's v good. Quite touching in some places.

like i finished one historical book.. it's worth trying. the sisters' lives are amazing~ although their lives were so dramatic that their union became weaker pursuing money, power, patriotism respectively, they were still sisters! _ beautiful.

The music was lovely. A beautiful yet tragic story. The acting was superb as well.
