Even though it's really cheesy and preposterous, it still has moments. Good acting jobs as well.

Possibly shocking for its time, but very tame and boring by today's standards. Yet another '30s melodrama in which a woman sacrifices everything in order to sustain a web of lies that she built to shield someone from harsh reality. Why do these movies always praise deception? I guess because if she were honest there'd be no movie.
