The similarities between "Victim" and "Rosemary's Baby" are uncanny, and you can tall that "Victim" was a major influence on Polanski's film. While both are quite drab, "Victim" does not even begin to hint at the possibility of redemption in terms of its characters or narrative. It is jarring because it differs so much from classical narrative. With great production values for a B movie and refusal to spin positive on the scenario, "Victim" is a gem.

The human mind is hilarious. The lovely Satanists in their well mannered evening garb - the picture of perfect upper class regalia - are sworn to non-violent ways. Ok, sure. So to take care of a renegade member of Old Scratch's tribe, they try to force her to commit suicide. That's non-violent? Screwing with a person's mind until they kill themselves? They sound positively Catholic.
