Taylor may have gained a few pounds too many, but she still looks gorgeous as so does the scenery. No wonder that the film's Oscar-winning song The Shadow of Your Smile was inspired by her.

With all the complicated love stories out there at the moment, it was good to see something that wasn't about teens and dramas. The drama in this was understated. I love having TCM!

The real-life love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton is never more clearly shown as portrayed in this film, amidst the beautiful waterfront beaches and ocean. Recommended for serious Taylor/Burton fans, who will enjoy their satisfyingly carefree trysts.
