The problem isn't that it hits so many traditional rock biopic notes. The problem is that it purports to tell the story of a manufactured 70's all girl band and, when it's over, the character you remember most vividly is the guy who did the manufacturing.

I really enjoyed this. A wonderful surprise that was elevated by Kristen Stewart's superb performance as Joan Jett. Fanning also did a good job. Cool music.

It skims through the story of The Runaways which is a little disappointing because I would have liked to have seen more, but what it presented is well acted and the era it captures feels authentic.

Awesome movie! Made me a fan of the band and I learn a lot about the time! Must see even if Kristen steward is a bad actress; the "I don't care" aditude actually kind of works in this movie...
